Applying for AMEX Blue Sky

I want to apply for an AMEX Blue Sky card.  My score is around 740 and all my bills are paid on time.

These are my current accounts:

-Office Depot Card (credit limit $2,000)- Paid in full

-Car loan

-Student VISA  (credit limit $300) - Current balance $60

-Personal Loan  ($145.00/monthly)

I was planning to pay in full my Student VISA, but I don't know if that would improve my chances.  Should I wait?  I used to have an AMEX Gold, but my parents decided to close the account  Would having a previous AMEX card help me?

Thank you for any advice you may give me.

Re: Applying for AMEX Blue Sky

Is the student visa your only revolving TL? What's your AAoA? Inq? Is that a fico score? Which bureau? Assuming that's your fico score, I'd say you have pretty good chances.

Re: Applying for AMEX Blue Sky

Here are just some of the ways in which American Express Blue Sky outdistances standard frequent flier cards. After the first $1,000 spent within three months of account opening, new cardholders earn 15,000 points. Each point is what is worth 1.33 or 2.66 cents on the dollar, depending upon the type of purchase. The bonus is ffectively worth around $200. Once 7,500 additional points are amassed, American Express Blue Sky cardholders can redeem points for a $100 statement credit toward travel expenses ranging form airfare to lodging and vehicle rental.
