Hi all,
I got my Freedom card last month and am itching for a Sapphire Preferred ... I was wondering what the odds of approval would be.
I have four cards at this moment:
Citi Forward - last October, 2.5k (first card, CLI from 1k a month ago);
BoA Cash Rewards - late June, 1.5k;
Chase Freedom - early July, 1k;
Barclay Sallie Mae - early July, 1.5k.
In addition to that, there are 6 total HP and 4 HP in recent six months on Experian. Perfectly clean history, no baddies, util around 10% (FAKO 703).
Got a Chase checking acct for almost a year with regular DD coming in. Making 68k a year.
Wil this be considered too aggressive in terms of applying for credit or will Chase approve considering the length of business relationship? I know I can always recon, but don't like that. Need your advice ...
Thanks in advance!

i personally would wait till september to apply for CSP. Also another thing to keep in mind, you may get double pulled for CSP, i did with ex and tu. YMMV tho

Thanks for the info! Actually my TU has only 2 HPs, which give a higher score (FICO 711) ... I think if they do pull TU the odds are even higher.
But yes it's always wiser to wait a little bit.

What I'm considering is actually an app spree along with BCE and Discover ... so if I miss this round it's probably gonna be even more waiting. : (

I have gotten rejected for Chase then apped again pretty quickly and got approved .... Apped for amazon Visa approved in Feb but Declined for Freedom. Apped for CS and Freedom in June but Got declined for CSP a week later. Got approved for CSP and Marriott this week so it is what it is.
unless something major good happened to your report in the last month, don't bother for the CSP, it requires they approve with a 5k CL, and to be honest the 1k freedom approval means it was borderline at best, Typically they are approved with 2k or better, and sometimes much better. Just give it sometime, hit the garder treat your cards well in 6 months or a year when you get CLI's or other card approvals with CL's of around 5k they go for it.

I second this. Mainly just looking at the few new accounts you recently got. Your AAoA must be very low and the CLs across the cards are relatively low too. If you don't mind the HP, sure go for it, but I would personally wait. Good luck!
