Re: Apprehensive to apply for Barclays

Well that's not good. I emailed them once when I had an issue claiming points, they added them and then also gave me 250 bonus points ($5 certificate) for both the mishap and for using their email/online message service to address my issue. I guess everyone will have different experiences...

Btw, sorry to get off topic, the thread can be back to Barclays now.

Hahaha...no problem. Congrats on the extra 5 bucks on them. I think the thread served its purpose. I'm convinced that I'll be approved for the card. Now the hard decision...I just have to decide if I'm really ready to make the switch to Mac and get a brand new laptop.

Re: Apprehensive to apply for Barclays

Hi FrogFan;

Go for the Mac!

I've been a Windows Network Administrator (Way under paid) for over 20 years.  4 years ago I bought a iMac to play with at home.  Now I use a Mac Mini i7 2.7Ghz with 8 Gig Ram as the computer I administer my windows servers with at work!  I have 3 Macs and 2 iPads at home.  Yes I drank the Apple coolaid! Smiley Wink

Go for the Mac!

Once you learn it you'll love.

I got my Apple card about a year ago with about a 630 FICO.  CL of $1500.

Good luck.

P.S.  Did I say go for the Mac!

Craig, an IT guy.

Is there a difference between the iTunes Barclays card and the regular Barclays card for Apple other than the iTunes rewards?

Yes. The iTunes card has rewards on iTunes and is black. The Apple card has no rewards and is white. I wish I had appd for the iTunes, but was afraid I wouldn't be approved, so went with the regular apple card. In retrospect, I don't think it makes any difference in approval. I think the promos are the same on apple purchases (like no interest, etc.) , but not completely sure, so you might want to check that before you decide on a card.

Re: Apprehensive to apply for Barclays

Thanks for the info. I'd love a way to earn free iTunes credit. My co-worker told me about it and now I'm kind of excited about it. I am just hesitant to create new debt and to switch to a brand new laptop.

I don't think the iTunes rewards card has the 0% financing from what I read.

Re: Apprehensive to apply for Barclays

I'm loving the 0% interest on my iPad! This is the first time in my life that i've been able to take advantage of a promotion like that! I'd love iTunes rewards, but the 0 interest is a better deal IMO. Others here recommended the apple card over itunes, which is why i went for the apple. I gather the rewards aren't that great, but didn't look into it too much. Smiley Happy

Re: Apprehensive to apply for Barclays

The Apple Financing card I have learned is a true financing card for all things besides Apple.  I have gotten offer after offer for BT at low interest rates and 3% transfer fees.  This month, I just got an offer for 12 months @ 0% interest with 1% transfer fee.  Too bad I don't have anything I can use it for....  also, they have sent me convenience checks to use if I so desire.  Nice!  I am very happy with Barclays and this VISA.  Wish the regular APR was lower.

Edited for grammar   Smiley Happy
