Approved Amex Gold Card

Hello all long new user here but a lurker

I need help with a question about a card that i can't find anything out about from amex if i was approved or not and want some point of views.

I had been getting pre appoval letter from amex about gold so i apped and everything came back ok they just needed proof of address.

Does this mean i am approved or not or just wait and see.

The same thing happened when I applied for the Blue Cash Card, I was told to check their site in an hour and when I did it said "pending" and next to that it said more info needed, I clicked continue and on the next page it said "Please call (this number) and have your home address info ready".

I called the number and gave the CSR my home address and was approved instantly, I believe the confusion about my address came about because about two weeks earlier I was added as an AU on my Fathers AmEx Optima Platinum card and when AmEx reported it with Experian (which is who they normally pull) AmEx accidentally put my Fathers address as my current address, so on EX my current address didn't match the address I gave them. I have since called and updated my actual current address so when they report this month on the 20th AmEx should report my correct address.

But to answer your question, I would think that you have been approved, I do not want to get your hopes up, but the same thing happened to me and I was approved.

Have you tried calling or checking their site http://www.americanexpress.com/applicationstatus/

Same thing happened to me when I got my zync. I just had to call and talk to them and tell them my address and was instantly approved.

i called amex today and had a chat with new accounts and he said i could change the address with chase and they can call and call and confirm it.

So i changed the address on one of the accounts and they amex did a 3 way call with chase and confirmed my address and he said the system was wanting to approve me.

So he approved me

What does everyone think of the gold card if they have it.

They also pulled experian in az and i had 4 or 5 inquires in the last 5 months.

Too bad they pull Experian.  I sure would like to have at least one American Express card.  Congrats.
