Hey everyone. I got instant approval for the explorer card just now. I really appreciate all the advice I got regarding holding out until after statements cut and what not. i wanted to apply earlier, but just remained patient until I knew my CRs were up to date and would show all accts paid off. I got instant approval for $12k, my highest limit ever.
For those interested: TU- 734, EQ- 731. Total util 1%, AAoA = 4 years. One 30day baddie Feb 2012. $60K income; TU shows 4 inq (one for an apartment app), EQ shows 3 inq.
Update: I went ahead and applied for the sapphire about an hour later. It was initially rejected. I called recon, lady said the reason for rejection is too many applications. I told her that the previous lady whom I spoke with that approved me for the MP explorer said I could apply for the sapphire and that there's no limit on product apps. (which is true). She asked me to tell her about myself. So I told her everything, why I wanted to be a sapphire member, I kissed some a** saying how I think chase has the best products on the market and how I've had a bank acct. with them for over 10yrs. She put me on hold, and about 5min later approved me for 5K.
Well, I'm done. Gonna garden for a looooong time.

Yay!!! Congrats on the approval and limit!
Congrats! Yet another data point showing that the Chase MP Explorer gives out very generous CLs.

it sure seems like it! I got approved for 9k (to my surprise since i had gotten approved for the Marriott a couple of weeks before). It looks like co-branded cards by Chase seem to be generous.
