Asking for CLI?

I have read several post about asking for CLI from CC companies before they came on thier own due to age of the account.  I was wondering if this was something I should pursue? I have one card opened 08/2012 and I received a CLI in June from the original CL of $300 to a new CL of $500.   I opened a second card 05/2013 which opened with a initial CL of $500.  Would it be a good idea to try asking for a CLI on either card?  I have read several posts about people email the higher ups and getting CLI without a HP.  I am avoiding those at all cost!!  Thanks in advance.

Re: Asking for CLI?

Both are with CapOne.  One does have a balance right now but I have no late payments or anything else and the other has a $0 balance.

Re: Asking for CLI?

CapOne has recently put a Request a Credit Increase button on their website. But many have reported here that the button denies you if it hasn't been at least 6 months from your most recent CLI from them.

That's about all I know up to this point, and I haven't tried it yet. You can do a search for Capital One CLI and all variations and see what you find.

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $50,000, Chase Freedom (12/12) $16,500, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Prestige (4/16) $30,000

Re: Asking for CLI?

Depends on the card as well.  C1 doesn't seem to be too generous with CLI's on their low end cards.  As a rule of thumb, if you're asking for CLI's be prepared for HP's.  Some lender soft but make sure that your lender does if you're looking to avoid HP's.

Re: Asking for CLI?

I had just read several post about people emailing the high ups and getting CLI's.  I just wondered if it was worth trying.  But no HP's for me right now!
