Authorized user help with higher SL??

I have to option to be added as an Authorized User for AMEX

I personally want my own and first Amex card. And was curious if I was added as an Authorized User. Would it increase my chances to get a higher starting limit on my personal card. As opposed to not being added as an AU at all

The original card holder has 5 years history and a 14k limit. Zero dollar balance.

My understanding is Amex no longer allows “piggybacking” and will add, but you don’t get the credit history length. .

Being added as AU will most likely do nothing when it comes to applying for your own card.

When you apply, your SL along with other terms, will be based on your own profile.
