BOA 99/500

So trying to help out my co-worker. She gets pre quals from cap1 and tried but denied. She just recently tried barclays and got denied due to lack of history and high util. She has 1 card thats like a year old. 500 limit with a 300 balance. Shes wondering if it's possible to get the 99/500 card and how. Like does she apply for it or is it offered after applying for a card? She does have some old late payments. And like 4 inqs. Not sure what bureaus she says.

Re: BOA 99/500

You can't ask for that, they will offer if you qualify.

Balance is high on that credit card.

Re: BOA 99/500

I'd see if she can try getting some of those derogs off. Also another huge thing here is that utilization is way too high. The last thing she should be thinking about is applying for credit until she gets all that stuff taken care of.

I may try for a BoA card again next year.

Maybe theyll give me a second chance with one of these. Smiley Happy

Re: BOA 99/500

I burned boa in my bk7 in 2010 - I tested the water and apply 2 months ago. Got declined but they offer me the 99/500. I go for it and now it's my lowest limit.

Re: BOA 99/500

You need to apply for a card first, and then they counter. Good luck to you!

Re: BOA 99/500

4 years and from a BK.....Maybe my chances are not so bad after all.

I C/Od a card of theirs for less than $1K nearly 7 years ago, paid in full 5 1/2 years ago and dropped off reports 4yrs ago.

As of June im still blacklisted.

Re: BOA 99/500

1k and blacklisted ?

I burned them for almost 8k, late fee and charges included. Even though they started me with 500$ limit now, I guess I should be happy ....
