A credit analysist told at BOFA told me that if you're credit report looks good and you maintain your UTL no higher than 40%, they WILL give you a CLI.

You gotta love them.

Hello preci0uz -

Would you happen to have the back door number you used for that analyst. The people I am getting are giving me a hard time and I am at 16% UTL. I might be at my cap, but who knows....Smiley Wink

Hi ocheosa,

Believe it or not, I just called the number on the back of my card 1-800-732-9194 and asked for a credit analyst so that I could inquire about a CLI.

I think it all depends on the person you speak to. Some analyst don't even bother looking further into your account. Before you request a CLI, just call them and inquire what the CAP amount is etc.

Then, once you're ready to ask for CLI I would try calling during the morning around 10AM. That way the analyst has not been bother by hundreds of customers and still pretty fresh but not sleepy. You don't want a grouchy one.

The credit analyst that I spoke to was SUPER nice. Just by his greeting I knew he was in a good mood and I asked him about the CLI and if it would be a hard inquiry etc. I pretty much explained him that I enjoy my relationship with BOFA and would love to make this card my regular go-to card. However, I told him that i would be requesting the CLI until next month because I’m waiting for 1 of my cards to show a ZERO balance and that’s when he told me about the 40% utility.  He was more than happy to go for the increase, but I said NO.-one more month.

I also inquired about converting this card to another but he told me that I would have to re-apply (hard inquiry).

So my grand plan is to request a CLI on this account next month, and I've heard that if you apply directly at the branch you get higher limits, so the next day, I'm going straight to BOFA to apply for World Points Visa and then combine them!

Then once it reports on my credit card, I’m going to CITI!!
