well, the secured card in my sig that graduated @ 10 months when i asked for a secured version of the 1-2-3 card(got an unsecured version), i waited for the account number to change and then put in for a CLI online. I got the "call for an instant decision" screen, so i called. I asked for 3K on the form. Got a lady named Andrea, wanted to know why i had a short history overall and what i needed it for. I said i was one of those folks who liked to just pay and forget it about, but now i want to do some credit building for the future, and my upcoming Trip to NY in September(US Open baby!) and possible moving expenses in the next 6 months(apartement)
Without much reservation, it was approved and now it's my highest limit card. She spoke a lot about my history of PIF. Pretty Amazing 21 days i've had. I made a secured deposit in April @ 8 months to get to 1.2K , so i guess i'm a little lucky they didn't count that as a reset of my waiting period to ask for a new CLI( i was actually contemplating one more deposit to double before they graduated me). Took all of 5 minutes and 39 seconds.
. I may just go on and close the secured Cap1 before the 1 year is up next month, won't really need it to help with utilization. Or i may just keep it until i get that 12th OK box in my payment history anways. Next up, 6 months with Discover in September, let's see what i can get out of them!
Congrats YahComb!
I have some very different experience with them. They have some exeptional CSR and credit specialists, but they also have some with verry little knowledge and unhelpfull
yeah, i see that some people aren't having such a great experience with them. A whole lot of YMMV person to person, but that seems pretty stat quo for all major card issuers/banks. I'll see where the future takes our relationship. If they kept harping on me to join their actual bank for savings/checkings though i'd probably start to get a little fed up with them.
Dude, sweet!
I'm still debating kicking up my secured CL the traditional way to 5K, but it's nice to see you got an unsecured one. Still haven't seen any change in my online interface about adding rewards to my secured card though, though who knows if things stayed on the same timeline as yours with the 4th and all.
