I applied for one of BOA regular cards and got this message:

Thank you for your application for a Bank of America credit card account. We regret we're unable to approve your request at this time. We will mail you information regarding our decision in the next 25-30 days.

Would it be a good idea to wait for "the mail" or go ahead and apply for a secured card with them?

What about "we need more time". App for a Visa Signature, getting that for a week?

The need more time message I would call their back door line and inquire.

If you get need more time, call back door number right away! they should complete app while on the phone
