We talked for like a half hour and that usually isnt me but hey, was a great experience. So guys and gals, time to pick up that phone thingie and see what awaits you in the wonderful world of creditSmiley Happy

Congrats, AJC!  That's the way to do it!!  It never hurts to ask.  That's a nice decrease in one fell swoop.

Sounds like you and the little gal from Maine hit it off!  Smiley Tongue  If you're not attached, maybe you should call back and ask for her again!  Smiley Wink

Hey @Aim_High , hope you are well, seen youve been up to no good lately so i assume soSmiley Wink

Since this thread was from the good old days, pre covidSmiley Wink, there should be a thread somewhere  on me actually getting it down to 14% Smiley Happy. Its probably lower now due to fed cut. But yeah Boa is good on this. My most recent apr reduction was from Discover Chrome , about 2 weeks ago , from 24% to 20% more or lessSmiley Wink

Nice job woo'ing your way into the reduction, although I'm sure your profile and activity supports it. I've always been hesistent of calling up BofA. I've always had this gut feeling that they'd review it go "you know I think we've over extended to you" lol so I just let it be with the accounts lol

Congrats AJC!

Re: Bank of America APR reduction

Thank you for all your pearls of wisdom @AverageJoesCredit , I was SO happy and grateful that I was even approved, that I was too embarrassed to ask in the forums where to even find my current APRs. I finally figured it out when looking in the NAVY App, I had to search for it, but I found it and it has gone down in accordance with the Fed rate cut that I read about here in MYFICO as well. I will remember to pay attention moving forward.

Q: Is the idea to ask for a decrease at the one year mark, and to make sure you have a zero balance when you request the reduction?

Or for my DD, who is paying down her balances, can she ask even though she still has a balance,  or should she wait until she reaches below a certain threshold?

Or, is it wiser for her to just keep a low profile instead, while carrying large balances, while paying them down, to avoid AA and balance chasing, especially with COVID?

Aim_High (or someone with a similar signature) - OT but...

Is there something somewhere about setting up a sig like yours? I'm not the greatest when it comes to HTML, but I'm also not completely technologically lost - just need a little guidance.

I would like to try to setup something like yours - appreciate any help/guidance!

No problems ChulaSmiley Happy, Honestly, apr doesnt have anything to do with carrying a balance so if you have fulfilled the 1 year period, ask away, regardless of balance. If you are mainting your account responsibly,  they should obligeSmiley Wink.

Glad to help as always, @Anonymous.  Smiley Happy  I knew nothing really about HTML but was able to set it up. There is a reference thread in the community although it can be a little confusing. It goes back to 2013. See link at bottom of this message.   Meanwhile, I will give the quick Cliff Notes version. Lol.  And I'll post it here for others who might be interested.

You qualify but for anyone else reading this, you must be rank of MEMBER or higher to add a Siggy.

NOTE: If you just want a simple text-only signature, skip down to "***" below.

Set up card images. Some members have set up links to the lender's website for images. That has been frowned upon by some of our tech-savvy members because it uses their bandwidth. A better method is to download the card images to a photo hosting site. Previously, a lot of members used photobucket or some older websites that are no longer available. That's why sometimes you see icons or failed images in a signature. A good current website that I used that allows you to set up free images is Imgur.com. Decide where you want your images hosted and set up a profile.

So first I download the card image to my computer. Usually the lender's website is easiest and best source but you can also do a web search. I have seen some lenders who don't put their images on their website but the image may be on the general web. Last source would be a photo or scan of your own card as long as you can edit out the personal info.  (Right click on image and save.) Setting up a folder on your desktop to save them to will help.  It's not required, but I use a basic photo editing program to enhance my images also. Among other things, sharpening helps them look a lot better. Now add the images to IMGUR. If you open your CARDS desktop folder you created on one side of your screen and downsize your browser window to have both open side by side, you can click & drag the images to IMGUR.  Easy Peasy.

Now you need to add them to My FICO. As you set up each card, you will import a direct link from My Fico to Imgur. If you open the card image in Imgur that you imported, the DIRECT link is the second button option on the right sidebar. Select copy for that web address to add to signature.  I leave my images at Original Size and then add the code in My Fico to make them all match.

Now you can create the Siggy.  Click on icon at upper right of My Fico to open My Profile >> My Settings. The middle tab says  Personal Information and under that you see Signature. That's where all the HTML code goes. The block is tiny so one suggestion is to write the code in a word processing program and copy and paste back to My Fico with the finished product. I also have a backup copy saved on my computer in case my signature gets corrupted or I want to edit it later.  The code you use for each card is similar, and this is where you not only add the image link but also the Label people see if they hover over your card.  The image sizes can be adjusted. I had mine larger but I like my current size of 65 x 85.

As you may know, the code will all run together in the signature but when editing it makes it easier to line space out each item, then remove the spaces before you paste it on My Fico.

For example, here is the code for my Bank of America card. The highlighted and underlined text is the image link from IMGUR. You can leave the title off or add whatever text you like.

<img height="65" width="85" src="https://i.imgur.com/5nB4auo.jpg" border="0" title="Bank of America Cash Rewards Visa Signature $70,000">

After you set up all the cards, it looks like this with it all running together. >< ... starting and endings touch:

<img height="65" width="85" src="https://i.imgur.com/5nB4auo.jpg" border="0" title="Bank of America Cash Rewards Visa Signature $70,000"><img height="65" width="85" src="https://i.imgur.com/sEyYqmp.jpg" border="0" title=" Discover IT $50,000"> ... etc etc

The links to other badges that have been created are available on the community thread or you can copy the image link from another member.  Your HTML will determine the content and appearance on your Siggy. For example, My FICO score label HTML is:

<img src="https://img.shields.io/badge/ FICO Score 8/9-blue.svg">

There are many other image links members use including the Gardening Spades etc. Also, some members put profile data like scores in their own image they upload to web hosting site, the same way credit card images are loaded.

***
Any text you add at the bottom is just typed in the Siggy with simple <br> code for line breaks. Some members elect to do this method for their entire signature since it is much easier than linking images.

The last step is ALWAYS to open one of your recent postings and check your work!! The changes should appear immediately, for better or for worse.   Sometimes, a small error or two will make it appear differently than you expected.

Hope this helps! PM me if questions and thanks for bearing with me on the Off Topic Discussion.
