I definitely opted for this upgrade, and it sealed the fate of my Citi AA Platinum Select WEMC. The Barclays version has so much more flexibility, and I'm somewhat satisfied after the transition from the U.S. airways card. I'd prefer if they allowed the $100 Global Entry Credit to also be used for AA's fees, however...
Lastly, the Aviator card designs look a million times better than Citi's AA cards. When I got the new Platinum Select design in the mail, it was a huge disappointment. It looks even worse than the Sallie Mae

I was told by twitted that I am upgraded and will eventually receive a new card. they also assured me that even though the website says I still have the red card, I have the silver card.
I'm not really buying it. I'll probably call up today after work.
They finally changed my online card to the Silver, still no cards. :-/
My thinking tells me they are trying to upgrade as many people as they can to increase the value of their portfolio for when they start negotiating with citi on the sale of said portfolio.
they are trying to add value to it. just my dumb thinking.
Finally received the AAviator Silver card today. I upgraded on 6/6 and it took them this long to process the upgrade and mail the card. It does like nice though
