Barclays AA credit card and 10% miles back redemption

With my Barclays AA card I get 10% back when I redeem an award. My question is do I need to use the card to pay any AA fees or is just having the card linked to my AA card is enough to get the redemption even if I pay the fees with a different card?

Found the answer which is you can use any card as long as the AA credit card is linked to your account.
