Barclays Credit Limit Decrease - down all the way to $500 !

They seem to be very conservative in this dark time, but a lot of the other banks are doing the same if not worse right now.. Closing the account may not always be the best answer, I would only close it if they change the terms or worse. I would consider using the card sparingly for the next year and see what happens.

Right before Christmas I got a letter saying they were CLD me from 3K to 1K due to to many inquiries in 12 months( I have 2 one being from them ) and short revoving history. I have ran a lot through and only carried a small balance. I call the back door number today and discussed it with them and they said it was computer generated and said I should not have been decreased and reinstaed my CL to the 3K. I did pay the balance off completely as soon as I saw the decrease to keep it from hurting my util so maybe that influenced them giving me back my CL. Sorry this happened to you but try calling the backdoor number listed on here and maybe you can get at least some of your credit line back.

Boscoe I did call for a reinstatement the best they would do was give me back 1K. I accepted that and called a week later to cancel altogether. Juniper is a strange issuer anyway. I closed my account because I saw no reason to ever think they would ever give me back anything close to what I was originally given. Besides I have cards with Chase Citi and BofA. What do I need a semi sub prime Juni card for anyway?

I did not have good luck with Juniper/Barkleys.  They would not give clis or lower interest so I closed them a long time ago.

DW and I both got Juniper CLIs last year - we asked, but there was no hard pull.

Nothing much has happened since.  We PIF and everything stays the same, and we get free books and free gas, no AF, so I will keep them.  We also have a comined CL of $24.5K, which always helps!

Yes, I have a derog from Wamu.  The only item that relates to this that they mentioned was the "excessive inquiries".   4 hard pulls by Wamu during the short sale process - all involuntary.

But I suspect they would have made up something else, like too much available credit elsewhere, etc.

Yes, in FICO scoring a short sale, foreclosure and a deed in lieu are equally bad...a major derog.

Boscoe, you have a major derog on your reports with this short sale, so your creditors CLDing you should be expected.

my travelocity MC, had a CLD from 5k to 4.7k...not that much... however my UTL is high 4k on that card cause of BT for 9 mo @ 0%.

I am sure if I had paid in full or zero balance my CLwould have been slashed even more..
