Re: Barclays Uber Visa Refresh

I would say the Uber cash processing question is very relevant. As they get more items feeding to Uber Cash, and a component ( AX Platinum ) has a monthly expiration, is Uber able to handle the accounting correctly?

Does the proposed “Earn Uber Cash” structure for the CC have any expiration language on that “cash” you earn?

Re: Barclays Uber Visa Refresh

As soon as I turned off DND this afternoon, Reddit app popped an alert about this nerf and I just had to laugh at how ridiculous it is.

It isn't unexpected though, there has been a lot of talk about the card being unsustainable long term with the high cash back from dining.

I am kind of glad Barclays declined me for it now. Pushed me to get the SavorOne instead. 🤷‍♂️

Re: Barclays Uber Visa Refresh

Well I guess its time to wait for my last transaction to post cash out all my cashback and close it. Smiley Sad
Been getting prequalified mail for the wf propel for a while now. Maybe its time to try to get one.

Re: Barclays Uber Visa Refresh

I just took this card off my wishlist a few days ago, yeesh. Also Barclays really doesn’t hesitate to nerf/morph everything does it? I’m kinda glad I never got in with them now. Shame for all the cardholders who don’t use Uber though, that’s super annoying.

Oh this definitely sucks. For someone with a thin file and want to keep my 5/24, this is going to hurt (currently 3/24).

Re: Barclays Uber Visa Refresh

Figured they’d make this card suck eventually. The card was probably not as profitable as they would have liked at the old reward rate

Most of their CCs don't have the capability to PC anyway except downgrade/upgrade in the same product family.  Unless someone is remotely interested in any of their other CCs, and if approved, at least the CL can be reallocated.

Well shoot! This isn't a goal card of mine anymore! Losing the travel rewards and changing from cash back to Uber cash? What the heck even is Uber Cash?! I think they're going to regret this change a lot.

Doubt if there will be much regret on their end, I assume that they are making the changes because the card is unprofitable in its current form.

With all the usual Barclays hate, remember part of the pain is because the card is so good in the current form.   This is just like the Sallie Mae story.   The lesson is get in early and enjoy the ride!
