Barclays "secure" message center

I sent a message to Barclays to see if I could change commence/rewards to Uber (knowing the answer was probably no, but...)

 

In response I get a message to someone else (B**** D**** below) talking about another card.    A whole new meaning for "secure"!

 

Dear B***** D****

Thank you for contacting us regarding your Carnival Mastercard.  We can certainly address your concern regarding the product upgrade on your account.

Upon review, our records show that we are unable to upgrade your account to a different card. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Please be advised that you can check and apply for a different card by visiting us at www.barclaycardus.com and viewing all of our card programs.  You can also contact our Applications Department at 1-800-308-6008.  They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist. 

If you have any other questions or concerns, please reply to this message.

Way to many of us trying to pc our Commence cards to anything else lol

 

That or too many of us trying to pc to the Uber card.

 

I would love that card but worry about them nerfing it like they did the Salliemae.

They responded (they are quick, I will give them that).   Apologized for the previous response, asked me to call to discuss, and told me the amazing news that

Who would have guessed that you can apply for another card by applying for another card from their app page!
