Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard

I used the pre approval link for the Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard, and I was prequalified for the Gold Card with no annual fee (The no annual fee part really surprised me since I always have to pay an annual fee! I tried this link about a month ago and was only offered the secured card, so I'm very excited. I'm in the process of rebuilding my credit, especially my Experian report, which is the one they pulled). Is this a good card to apply for? I currently have a Credit One Bank Credit Card, Fingerhut, Kays, and Jared, all which have low debt to limit ratios. Should I apply for this card? Also, my TransUnion Report is a 620, and a lot of my prior creditors did not report to TU, so I don't have many tradelines reporting on TU. Can anyone recommend a card that pulls Transunion? Thanks in advance.

I would say yes if all you have is a Credit One Card for Visa/Mastercard

Re: Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard

I currently have both a Capital One card and a PNC rewards card which I have no use for.  My RZMC is my primary card of choice.  On avereage I spend anywhere from $800 - $1500 / month on this card which earns me a decent chunk of cash to use at Best Buy.

250 points = $5

1 point = $1.00 at BB.

.5 point = $1.00 anywhere.

When you spend $2500 in a calendar year (on anything), you'll become a Premier Silver member which earns you a 50% bonus in points for items purchased at best buy... so...

It's not a bad gig when you can get $20+ each month to use at the store.  Buying video games earns even more, for every $150 you spend, you get $10 back. Smiley Happy

2 points for every dollar purchased at Best Buy, actually, when using the Best Buy RewardZone MasterCard.

Re: Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard

What type of limit did they start you off with, if you don't mind my asking. I don't wanna apply and only get like a $300 limit. My others are around $1000.

Is this a soft pull?

Re: Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard

The pre-approve is a softpull. I was pre-approved last week for a gold card and then was denied once I applied due to "insufficient credit references". Also, I believe they hard pull EQ now.

Re: Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard

I did the pre-qual yesterday and was pre-qualified for the BB mastercard. I applied and was declined. The reason stated "Insufficient credit references".

They pulled TU. I have no credit cards whatsoever. I do have one revolving account that shows as closed as of 2005. My TU FAKO is 704. I tried to pull actual FICO's from this site but couldn't. You might want to apply in the store. I've heard you get better results this way.
