I guess I shouldn't have applied after all.

Look back further in this thread- that's what I got I think it's standard for HSBC.
Sweet! Thanks.
OMG! Ridiculous! I just got approved for 1,000. Why do I even need Capital one and BofA now? I wish I had found this before I got that dumb secured card. Grrrr. Oh well. WOOHOOOO!!!
After being involved in this thread I am starting to highly doubt HSBC declines anyone for this card (RZMC). Read back further. They might start you out a a very low CL but probably not an outright denial. I think HSBC likes to offer "microloans" instead of denial.
Maybe they are trying to win the Nobel Prize for Credit Cards! LOL
IMHO I would keep those old cards for what they are designed for- small purchases every month that you PIF. That way you will build positive payment histories on multiple accounts. I have read some users close down these but I would definitely keep building your payment history for at least like a year. Then if the AF really are getting under your skin close them. I could see keeping them open and active for 2 years actually. Just my humble opinion...
Intersting, I used to do the pre approval for HSBC and it would offer the platinum card, now I do it and it offers a secured card.
Yey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all, after being under review for "10-14" decided to call and:
Congratulations! Your application has been approved. For $2,000 !
I got approved for the PLATINUM MC. with NO Annual Fee
Thanks again everyone!
