I apped for Cap1 unsecured MC about 1 1/2 mos. after DC and was approved. If you don't mind the 3 hard pulls, you can always try unsec. first. If not approved, it would be another 3 pulls to apply for the secured if you are not offered it. BOA would have to be a secured, and they deny people for that. Since you didn't burn them, you have a good shot.
Cap1 also has a prequalifier on their credit cards site, try that first before apping.
