Re: Best CU credit card APRs?

I don't know where you're based out of, but here in Florida there's the People's Credit Union that offers a rate as low as 6.9% fixed (but can go up to 17.8%).

I don't have this card but I'm keeping it in mind once the prime rate goes back up.
800+ across all three (via FAKOs) has been achieved! Current goal - Get down to 6 cards in total - sitting with 8 currently.

Lake Michigan Creidt Union has a pretty nice 6.25% rate card. But my lowest rate card is my Surpass at 11.40%

Off topic: Ive also been really itching to join LMCU to take advantage of their 3% APY checking, only thing stopping me is they want a HP on my TU report Smiley Sad

Sigh, some of their products are utterly awesome but only available to Michigan residents (100% LTV HELOC, oh yes please!).  I have wanted a TU-pulling CU for a while now though, since I couldn't get a response from my dad about his opening up a SSFCU account for me to latch onto as a family member, may poke at him again on that.  Not a bad find at all though with the checking account awesomeness for emergency reserve... though 10 debit transactions a month does sound more than a little onerous, am guessing could figure out a way without much overhead and might be a shot at a balance carrying card in the future.

I have to go seriously out of my way for things to land on my TU other than Barclay's applications and FIA CLI's.

Thanks for the tip!

I rarely have HP problems and my EX inquiries are worth an order of magnitude more than my TU ones currently due the fact I have a lack of things I actually need from any of my existing TU pullers.  I guess a Fidelity Amex CLI isn't a bad choice but would like to do better if possible.

Doesn't help to load EX and leave the other two mostly idle under my application methodology.  Inquiries are overrated anyway to quote another member, and I never worry about short-term damage to my credit report and corresponding score unless I have a big ticket application coming up.  Like now I'm as squeaky clean as I can get (background screening and two VZ stupid service inquiries on my reports), but post keys in hand with probably at least another 5 years on my car if not more and all the mortgage inquiries on my report anyhow?  Be a waste not to take the spree hit right there and see if I can fix the few remaining gaps in my revolving portfolio, or in this case, long term financial portfolio.

Just curious what are some of the better APRs you have received from your CU? Is it a rewards card, etc?

9.99% (purchases and cash) on the PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards.  Not the lowest APR out there but it is 5% at the pump (with qualifying product).

I realize i could probably google thousands of local credit unions and search their lending page for APRs but thought this might be easier.

You could also use the credit card sites and look at prior discussions.  If the search feature isn't working for you try a site restricted Google search.  Example below and you can use Google's tools to filter the dates on the results if you only want more recent results.

Re: Best CU credit card APRs?

Mainstreet FCU just lowered me to 9.9% and Mazuma CU is at 11.5%. Both in KC metro area. No rewards on either card. NFCU is 16.5%.

@BECU Rewards Visa - $10k @ 10.9% APR.

I've had this rate since I got the card in December 2013.  There are 2 tiers above this one... 8.9% and 6.9%.  I should be bumped up this fall at account review when my BK13 falls off my TU report with early exclusion and my score goes well over 700.

I use my rewards points on Apple iTunes gift cards.  BECU (Boeing Employees Credit Union) membership is available to those who live and/or work in Washington state.  BECU is the 4th largest US credit union.

It affects the APR of new cards more than anything though, which is what I hate. I like having all cards at lowest APR even though I don't carry balances.
