I've had a Best Egg Visa since January that I've barely used. Even so, every few weeks I get something in the mail from them offering me a new Visa card.
Today, the letter I got form them offered 1% cash back. That would make it my worst cash-back card but still better than the Best Egg card I signed up for. Does anyone know if current Best Egg cardholders will now get 1% cash back?
I decided to give Best Egg a call for the first time today to get an answer. The operator reached out to her manager, and I got my answer: It is in the works to have 1% cash back on all current cards, although a date wasn't given. The operator pointed out that means I won't have to apply for a new card to get 1% back. (Most of my cards pay more than 1%, but I suppose that's good news for many Best Egg cardholders who can't or won't apply for other cards right now.)
While 1% seems to be the absolute minimum amount for cash back of any card, it's not bad for a no-AF rebuilder card. It will make me feel slightly better when I use this sockdrawered card for occasional transactions to keep my account alive for utilization padding.
Now, if they actually went up to 2%, I'd put way more usage on this card. But that might not be a sustainable amount of CB for a rebuilder card.
The only thing they seem to be best at is clogging up my mailbox with offers for cards. 3 and 4 a week.

I'm not getting that many, but I've never seen a card that keeps sending out invitations for it after customers get approved. It's as if they have their system set up to blast solicitations out to anyone who has a particular credit profile, with no other criteria being used to weed out anyone who might not want it.
I'm starting to wonder if I would have received even more mail from them if I hadn't signed up for it. They might be very happy to sign me up for a second card, or even a third.
Years ago, when credit card companies sent out endless mailers, I, and others, used to fill the postage paid envelopes with a variety of items such as nuts and bolts; the hair our pets shed; and shredded paper from our shredders. (I'm sure others were far more...umm...creative.)
As many offers as I've received from Best Egg, I admit I've never opened the envelope to check for a postage paid return envelope. Maybe that time has come again. 🤣
