Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Chase Freedom/Freedom Unlimited:
$200 Cashback after you spend $500 first 3 months of openening account.
No AF for both.
Marriott Bonvoy Bold Visa SIgnature:
50,000 Bonus Points after $2k spend first 3 months of opening account.
No AF.
Chase IHG Rewards Club Traveler:
60,000 Bonus POints after $2k spend first 3 months of opening account.
No AF.
Just received a mailer:
TD Cash Credit Card
$150 Cash Back when you spend $500 within first 90 days
3% on dining, 2% on groceries, 1% other
No caps, no limits, no AF, no expiration
0% Intro APR for 15 billing cycles (for purchases and BT)
I rationalized our Valentine's Day dinner last night as being $150 off due to my SavorOne SUB. LOL.

The TD bank one is a good one. Might be my next free $150.

QS - $500 when it was a Savor
Costco - 50k? miles when it was an AA Platinum Select
etc.
Some issuers are more flexible than others, of course. Barclays wouldn't let me downgrade my Aviator Red to a no-AF AA card, even though one exists.
Agreed. I would rather get the higher bonus, then just downgrade later if the AF doesn't work out well. Currently my AF's are offset, though I'm growing cautious of getting new ones with an AF.

Though I suppose one reason would be that not everyone has the spend to hit the typically higher MSR of some AF cards (at least without doing something counterproductive or inefficient).

I see on the IHG site that you're right, but when did they drop the $29 AF on Traveler?
