Plus one has to make 72500 points to cover the 495 fee at my amazon rate of 70%.. if at 50% that makes the points go into the 100K. I just dont think I would use it enough yet. It does give nice points for specific things but I would have to do more of those things is all.
the marvel cards are issued by synchrony and I have a few of thier cards already. I heard having too many accounts with the same creditor can actually drop your score though..
Why are you so interested in AF travel cards (Prestige, Amex Gold) if you won't be redeeming for travel?
New accounts can hurt (temporarily) in general if utilization is low and history is clean. And new limits may fall (or approvals may stop or require credit limit reallocation) if you get a lot of credit from one issuer without a rising income. That is, some issuers don't want to extend too much credit relative to income. But fwiw, I had no issues getting a 5th card from Chase or a 6th card from Amex (both with healthy $20k SLs).
Travel is going to be coming up in the next year is mostly why.

If you plan on traveling, then you really shouldn't calculate the AF offset breaking point with Amazon redemptions.
The $250 travel credit already brings the AF down to $245, then you still have 2 4th night free hotel options can easily offset the remainder of the AF. The fantastic earn rate and PP, especially when paired with the Premier make for a pretty powerful combo when used by travelers.
So I found out that one can possibly upgrade their quicksilver card to a savor card rather than have to apply completely new. I called Cap one and they did verify that, but my specific account is not able to be upgraded to Savor yet, but it can go to Venture, which I turned down as I am not interested in miles as much as points and cash back. She said she would put in a request to some department to see if I can upgrade to savor anyway, or to check back every few weeks to a month to see if the offer comes back.
Knowing this, I am more tempted to get the Uber card instead so when my offer to upgrade comes up, I would waste an inquiry at all on savor and I can get both. Anyone like the Uber card?
Also, jdbkiang, I saw you have the Petal card. How is that card? I thought it was more for little to no credit types but clearly by your signature this is not you lol.Oh and yea travel is going to start next year at this point. We are going to be moving and such first.
Savor upgrade = no bonnus ($300/$500)
Petal - is for newer credit / only up to 10K limit
Yea I have thought about that, but I dont really *need* the bonus and weighing that against the 3 credit pulls, its hard to justify it away. Of course if they never offer me the upgrade option it may be something I consider later.
Oh okay then!
Because there are so many inconsistencies with coding on entertainment I think it may be best to just use a flat rate 2% card, and/or whatever travel ecosystem card you prefer.
