I have an Amex PRG, Delta Platinum, and BCE. I had a Hilton Surpass card and moved the CL over to BCE before closing Surpass. I never really use BCE, which has a $25k limit, but it’s backdated so is one of my oldest accounts, so I have to keep it.
About 2 years ago I apped for a CLI on Delta Platinum, I had $25k as my original limit, and was asked for a 4506-T. I never sent it and never got the CLI. I just apped for another CLI on Delta from $25k to $35k and got the 7-10 day response, which I’m sure is a no.
Is it worth me transferring $10k of CL from BCE to Delta and then apping for a CLI on BCE? BCE CL is currently $21k. I would really like to have one card with a $50k CL so I can use it to pay a big upcoming tuition bill and $25k is currently the highest I have on a regular card. Is it worth sending them the 4506-T if they ask for it again? Any help appreciated!
You could check your spending power to see if Amex would approve a $50k charge on PRG.
It's probably not a good idea to play with that spending power button. I've seen people get flagged for playing around with it.

For playing around with it, yes. But for using it as intended and testing a single charge?

Yea, I’ll probably do that if I have to but it’s going to be a recurring charge and I’d like to know I always have that available. My income is accurate per my tax returns so I guess I could just give them the 4506, I guess I’m just hesitant to share such personal info with a credit card company.
I apped for the CLI on Delta Platinum, got the 7-10 day response, and yesterday, to my SURPRISE, I got a $5,300 increase out of my requested $10k bump. No 4506T, no nothing. They did they I could get the increase then said it had to go to a back office for manual processing and to check back in 48 hours, but I checked today and it was already done. HOORAY! That brings me to $51,600 with Amex plus my PRG. At least now I can transfer CL from BCE to Platinum if needed.

Congrats on the CLI.
The next step is to see if you can transfer a large amount of one CL to the Delta.
My experience, just in the last 18 months or so, was disappointing.
I tried to move $10k of limit from a $20k SPG, several times over several days. “Systems are down” was the message. Then tried $5k, went through fine. So my recent reallocations have been $5k at a time and I’ve done several.
I would suggest asking for a higher limit with the 4506-T, but that may not be available if you just used your once-per-180 request.
The other possibility is they approve the charge even though it exceeds the limit on one card, as long as balances on the other cards are small.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks! They didn’t even ask for a 4506 this time around. I may wait a month and then try and transfer $10k from BCE to Delta and see what happens. I figure in 6 months if I’m able to do that I’ll app for a CLI on BCE again and hope they automatically give me something. Fingers crossed!
