Bloomingdales Amex E-mail after Online Application

Applied online and was approved for the Bloomingdales Store Card last week. CL is only $800. Called in and asked to upgrade to their Amex version. The rep told me it took one billing statement before upgrading. I received an e-mail a two days later thanking me for opening a Bloomingdale's American Express card. Not sure whether this was a mistake or real?

It sounds promising, but I guess the only way to find out for sure is to call and ask or wait for the card to arrive. Either way, congrats on your approval!

Gave them a call. I guess it turned out to be a mistake. I haven't received the card yet, but I was told it was a store account. Hopefully it can be converted to the Amex version soon

I would think the Amex version would need a higher limit.  Hopefully it gets upped a bit and converted.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.....
Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best advantage. Get the signup bonus. Whenever possible PIF or balance transfer so you pay less in interest. Never give an excellent rating when it is actually the norm. Always look for a discount as more is always better.
Always accept candy from strangers because they have the best candy or from people you know have good candy.
