BoA 2/3/4 rule

Doctorofcredit.com is reporting confirmation of a new rule at BoA they are calling 2/3/4.

- max 2 BoA cards per rolling 2 months
- max 3 BoA cards per rolling 12 months
- max 4 BoA cards per rolling 24 months

This would seem to validate my getting a quick autodenial when I apped for the new premium card a couple weeks ago after getting their cash and travel cards earlier last month... although I kinda doubt I would've gotten approved anyway.

No more churning those Alaska miles...

Edited to specify the rule applies specifically to BoA accounts.

Re: BoA 2/3/4 rule

Just to clarify, this means # of BoA cards, right?

Re: BoA 2/3/4 rule

The 4/24 is stricter than Chase's 5/24. Interesting.

Not necessarily -- we need to know if the # of accounts means just BoA or any credit card.  Chase's is any credit card (minus store cards in some cases).  Who knows what BoA counts as a new account: just their cards, or any credit card, or any bank card?

@ABCD2199 - Very true. If it's just BOA cards, then it's not that bad compared to Chase, who counts all cards as adding to the limit. I understand them wanting to stop heavy churners but I also think they lose some legitimate business with the restrictions.

Sorry, yes, it is specific to BoA accounts.  Recent accounts from other banks do play into their decision, but do not fall under this new rule.

Not me.  I'll have to wait another 11 months.  But by then I should be able to churn the Premium rewards card.  No other card that I want they offer.

I assume they are counting business cards i thier maximum number of cards.
