Checked my mobile app & noticed I now have the Unlimited Cash Rewards after having the AmeriCard for 4 years. I got a letter in the mail to apply outright but I chose to PC instead to get the rewards. I wonder if I apply for the card outright could I combine the two limits.

You would have to leave a toy limit ($500 IIRC but memory is fuzzy) on the donor card but you can reallocate limit between cards without a hard pull.

You can't close a card and then try to reclaim that specific allocation of credit limit back on a new card,  if you relinquish limit that way their policy has been to not allow you to get it back for at least a year.
