BoA Product Change

I have a BoA Platinum Plus Card. It is the plain-jane, non-rewards, Platinum Plus card. APR is 13.24%.

I have had it for about 3 years.

It has a CL of $13,000.

Currently a $0 balance.

FICO's are EQ:723, TU 731.

My question is, does anyone know if I can PC this card to a Accelerated Cash AMEX? If am, I certainly want to keep my CL.

Yes, I recently changed my Signature card to the BOA AMEX Accelerated.  The process takes about 3 weeks and there's no "hard pull" inquiry.

Re: BoA Product Change

My concern was BoA not allowing a PC to a rewards card from a non-rewards card. But from what you are saying, this isn't an issue.

Yes, you should be able to. I PC from a standard BankAmericard Plat Plus to the Accelerated Amex without any problems.

Re: BoA Product Change

Just called BoA.

The CSR I spoke to said my BoA Platinum Plus standard MC is not eligible to PC to the BoA Accelerated Cash Rewards AMEX. She said it is eligible to PC to a BoA Cash Back MC. She also said this Cash Back MC is NOT the Signature Visa or a World MC. It is a card that is not offered on BoA's website, but it offers the same rewards as the Bankamericard Visa Signature Cash Back card. I told her I would look over the rewards and call back later if I decide to make the change. In all honesty, I wanted the AMEX and don't want to make any quick decisions for any other card until I fully read everything I can about it.

Re: BoA Product Change

I am not really shocked about PC to Amex, they may not want to PC to a different credit network (MC-->Amex). but

I am shocked about they not allowing you to PC to world MC. In anycase, if it is not offered on their site, you may be able to ask them to mail the terms to you.

Citi Hilton Reserve 22.3K | Citi Thank You 8.2K | CSP 15.5K | Chase Freedom 10K | Chase BA 15K | Chase United 8.5K | Chase Marriott 5K | Discover IT 9K | Club Carlson 13K | Amex SPG 20K | BofA Cash Rewards 11K | BofA Cash Rewards 50K

Re: BoA Product Change

Since I couldn't find the card she was referring to, and no terms in writing to look at, that might have been an option.

In all honesty, since I have read here on these forums and on creditboards.com where people have easily done this PC with Platinum Plus Visa's and MC's, I am at a point where I really believe it is who you talk to at BoA. So I will call back periodically until I get it done, or not do anything at all.

I am only interested in the Accelerated Cash AMEX and since I think I can actually get this done I don't want to settle for something less, and regret doing it later.

Another thing too, this Platinum Plus MC I currently have is one of my old baby's, albeit no rewards. It has one of my largest CL's, lowest APR's, and longer age than some of my other cards. I may just hold on to it, and keep things 'as-is' in case sometime in my life I actually need to carry a balance of signifigant size. BoA offers me BT promos on this card every single time I log out of BoA Bank account also. So these are things I am considering as nice 'perks'  for this oldie but goodie.

I agree never had a MC with BOFA but was told a PC could never be done on my account an then after my 3rd call it was done. Now I don't have to ever worry about applying  for a real Amex revolving cause they can seem to act really crazy with FR's an stuff from reading this forum.
