BofA..Is this their way of apologizing? Pre-approved...

So, I just logged into my online banking 5 minutes ago and in the left hand corner of my account pages I see this:

WTH is this? Is this there way of apologizing for being schmucks? Hehe.
Is this a REAL preapproval?  I haven't even clicked off  the screen yet. My session will probably time out. I'm afraid to look. LOL

So I clicked it and it brings me right back to their home page and asks me to sign in. Smiley Mad
I was already signed in, but I went ahead and did it again and it brings me back to my accounts page with the same preapproved message, but when I clicked it, it brought me back to the homepage and tells me to log in.

Must be that a$$hole playing a hoax on me because I called and complained! Smiley Very Happy

Oh well. I was secretly hoping that maybe I could open it and combine my limits and keep my old history. Do they do that? I do NOT want any new accounts, already got 3 in the last few months (those were the only in the last 2 years, but I aim to purchase a home in 09 and dont' want to do anything else with my credit).

I got that too! When I clicked it, it kicked me out. When I logged in again, the offer was gone and replaced with 1.99% BT promo. Smiley Sad

That's so strange. Was yours recently? Or has this been an ongoing issue?

I checked my account this morning but didn't pay much attention until I read your post then I went back into my account to click on the banner. I think today was my first time seeing the promo. I usually get the 1.99% BT. I checked the "MY OFFERS" link below the account balances but didn't have that. It did have a Worldpoints Business card offer. I also had a lengthy conversation with the CSR for a CLI recon a few months ago. They were being hard headed so I gave up, however, I was able to convert my Gold card to Worldpoints.

That's so funny. I converted my goldcard to worldpoints very recently too. Maybe now we are considered valued customers. So, we'll get these offers...even if they don't work! Smiley Very Happy
I log in to my account every day and have never seen that promo before.

I hope so because I get jealous when so many people receive love from BOA... and here I am trying hard since 2002 with an $800 CL.

Re: BofA..Is this there way of apologizing? Pre-approved...

That pre-approved thing is always there on my home page once I sign in. It never works, just redirects you to sign in again. I think Amex hacked into the BofA site and they are checking to see if you check to see if you are pre-approved for another card he he heheheSmiley Happy.

If you want to see if you are really pre-approved for one of their cards, go to the credit card overview page once logged in and there will be a link to see if you have a "pre-approved offer".

Nope, the a$$wipe wasn't playing mind games with you Smiley Happy

By the way, I NEVER have a pre-approved offer.

Re: BofA..Is this there way of apologizing? Pre-approved...

i just completed a BT with an CSR over the phone (2.2apr till april) ...increased my limit from 1k to 4.5k..however, when i went to log on, i noticed the banner for "preapprovals" that was never there before...offer to "see what card if for me" bu, then proceeded to navigate me to where i was unclear if this was going to be a HARD PULL.

i just completed the BT and CLI with CSR, he assured me it was a SOFT PULL..i am wondering if this new app  ( if i applied)  will be hard/soft?
