So I have heard nothing from BofA about my request until today, but it wasn't a form to submit more money, it was a form asking me to call or send back the form. They just want to know how much I pay in rent.
BOA secure is not worth two HP imo. Sallie mae eats that card for breakfast lol. So glad I trashed mine. BOA customer service is the worst i have ever dealt with too. Capital one is better.
@Mike11208 wrote:So I opened the card with 500 I thought it would be enough but because of the Cash Back I am spending nearly 1500 dollars a month on the card already I am PIF before the statement cuts and paying multiple times through out the month.
Today I decide to increase the limit to 700 (why 700 and not 1000 I don;t want to go to crazy) using funds from my savings account to fund the increase.
I could not find the link to increase the limit in the information tab (I seen it before but when the card was changed to Cash Rewards it disappeared)
So I use the online chat, and request the increase. They ask me my annual salary, how much I pay rent my employer etc. Are they going to do a HP? I didn't bother to ask and now I am worried. He said it will take 5 to 7 days to process the request and if approved the funds would be deducted. U haven;t received any alerts from Identity Guard yet saying I have had my credit checked but I am just wondering if this is going to be a HP or a SP.
Thanks,
Not sure if it's an HP or not for an increase but if it is that would suck. Just wait a few more months and it'll be unsecured in no time and your limit will be increased big time. Mine went from 300 to now 10k in months. Got to be some of the best service and they will give you just about anything you ask for. Sorry to say but to whomever said Capital One better? Seriously? You're definitely one of the 1%ers. I'll take my BofA secured card from 300 to unsecured in less than a year and then Increased to 10k months later with excellent service any day over a capital one that will never unsecure. Or an unsecured capital one that will almost never give a CLI. Their service is so terrible that you have to jump hoops just to even have a chance. But don't let me be the judge, just do a search ANYWHERE or on this site. Pretty obvious BofA is ten times better.
OP if they did do a HP it will be from your TU credit report.
There was a HP. But I wanted to know if they were considering already unsecuring my card after the letter I got from them asking me how much I pay in rent.
They might, I've heard a couple people get theirs unsecured as early as 6 months. If yours did though it would definitely be a record for early graduation.
Mines is only 2 months old. But I am kind of excited at the same time with the letter I got asking me to call. I expected a letter asking me for deposit info.
Very cool and good luck to you. Let us know what happens, BofA will work for you and are pretty amazing.

Do you have any cash back for a secured card from BOA? I also have a BOA secured but is in the sock drawer, used only for 5$ a month for getting the low balance on statements. If there is any kind of cash back, I would be interested to start using it. Currently, I am using only Freedom for the cash back.
