Bofa - Approval Odds

Hi everyone!

I'm looking to get a new rewards card. I've been looking around a lot and I've narrowed down my options to Bofa Travel Rewards, Cap1 VentureOne or Cap1 SavorOne. Basically because all of these have rewards, no fee and 0 intro apr. I have some trips comming and want to take advantage of the posible rewards.

Do you think my approval odds for this cards are good? I would love the savorOne, but I'm a little concerned about that triple pull I've read about...

Fico 8 scores
720 TU (0 inq)
729 EQ (1 inq)

731 EX (0 inq)

I have one CC (Discover) $3,600  - 1.5 years old, but report says average is 6months

30k in student loans (I'm currently a grad student)

Thanks!!

Have you tried the Prequalify site through Cap One yet? I would start there, your scores are very good but your file is thin, so I not sure how BOA feels about thin files.

Re: Bofa - Approval Odds

On Cap1 it gives me the quicksilverOne and the Platinum. I did get a few options from the chase pre-qual page, including the FU and the CSP with a fixed apr. Also got a letter from amex for the cash magnet (fix apr too) it had a good bonus and all, but im not a fan that it's amex and it has foreign transaction fees...

I’d give the CSP a shot if you are pre-qualled

Re: Bofa - Approval Odds

I would jump on both CSP and AE so you have 3 credit cards which should improve scoring while thickening your file!

good luck

I've read that Savor won't show on pre-qual site. I don't know if that's verifiable or not. It didn't show for me & I apped successfully (albeit a modest 5K SL). Good luck.

Re: Bofa - Approval Odds

I would love to apply to the csp, but I don't think I'm going to be able to hit the spend min., to get the bonus... at least not without incurring in unnecessary spending. That's why I was looking at no af cards and bonuses without a big spend min. I'm just afraid to pull the trigger and get denials Smiley Frustrated

Re: Bofa - Approval Odds

If anything, I would go with the Chase Freedom UL. The CSP may not work for you as stated above so I would hold off on that. I'm not a fan of Cap1's 3x pulls so I try to steer clear of them. Try the BoA Prequal site as well.

The Savor and Savor One do display as pre-qualified products just like Venture, QS, etc.  It did for me last year.

Re: Bofa - Approval Odds

Just this morning I ran the C1 prequalify page and the Savor did indeed show for me.
