I want to call CITI for a CLI. I tried the luv button and was denied for too many inq stemming from an automobile purchase in July. Citi keeps pulling EQ (soft), which took the biggest hit during the auto loan process.
I cant find any information on CITI. Should I just call the number on the back of the card and ask. I know I will likely eat a hard pull.
Is there a recon department if I am not satisfied with the initial result after calling the number on the back of the card?
I have the EO number, should I wait until monday to call the EO to do the CLI request?
I want to minimize HP and recons.

How many inquiries is the CRA showing altogether / how many in the last 6 months?
Check the backdoor sticky for numbers.

EQ is showing 11. Of that 5 are in the past 6 months, and 4 of those are from the car loan process. Another 5 of the remaining inqs are from another car loan in February of last year, so I think of the 11 on EQ, 2 are actually from non-car loan related activity.
I checked the backdoor number stickies, and nothing from CITI seemed to match what I was looking for, although, I am not sure what AA stands for.

That may be a tad high for inquiries. Citi is moderately inquiry sensitive, but you may be able to talk an underwriter into approving the card if you have the income to support it.
AA = their American Airlines cobranded cards.
I guess my question is, what the fastest and most direct route to get to an underwriter.

I would call retention at 800-444-2568. They normally have the power to do quite a bit to keep your business, but if they can't approve a CLI, they will be able to expeditiously get you to somebody who has that authority

call normal CSR number, press 0 several times to talk to a representative, and then ask to be transferred to the credit department right away.
Thanks all for the input. I ended up calling the EO yesterday. They told me they would put my account in for manual review. Asked what I wanted for a CL and I said 7k. told me it would be a HP.
I see a HP from citi on my EX today via credit monitoring and log into my account. Citi bumped me frmo 2.4k to 7k. Should have asked for more! Thanks again for all your input.
