It's been 15 months since I received my last auto CLI, so I figured I would probably not have any issues receiving one, just wondered if it would look better to them on review if I did or did not have the Walmart Discover increase showing.
I myself would wait for the new limit to report, I am a firm believer in higher limits beget higher limts.
Yah, I hear that quite alot. Maybe having two card 5,000+ instead of just the one will fetch me a higher line on the BOA. My annual income is only $30,000 so I wasn't sure if total credit available may effect their decission if they thought I was getting too much. Although I see a lot of folks on here with credit lines two or three times their annual income...lol
I would not worry about the income. I am in the 30-40K range with limts total 72K; with cards at 11.5K, 7.5K, 5K.... How you use them is key, if you continue to use them as you always have prior to the CLI or new credit you will not have a problem. What they usually look for is a sudden increase in activity with rising balances, then you may get a CLD. There is no risk if your balances are at 0 or are small in relation to the cards CL.

Great! That really makes the most sense in my mind. I may just go ahead and hit the luv botton on BOA and just see what happens. I realize it will be a HP and that's the main reason I've not requested one in the last 2 years. But I think at this time it may be worth the HP, I've managed all my accounts perfectly and with science like precision and currently my total util is about 12% so I should be good there. I have 5 Inquiries on TU right now but 3 are from my auto loan I received back in June of 2013, so those are all 9 months old now. Hummm, why is it so hard to click that luv botton?
A minority opinion on this forum, but I would never "waste" a HP for a CLI because of my belief that for most people, a CLI has no actual value. (The exception is when a card you really want to use has such a small CL that you need to pay it several times a month. Then a CLI saves you time).
WHereas using a HP for a card that has a bonus, or better rewards etc, has a measurable value.
Now if you have a tolerance for lots of HPs, then of course you can do both, but in my mind, still not the best use of HPs.
