That depends on your income. I'd say for the average middle class Joe with a great history of on-time payments and no negatives, $7k and upwards upon approval. That's what I've been getting. Even Amex gave me $4k when I was a grad student with a very small income.

Re: CLI question with Discover

I would like $5000 please. Then I would be happy with them, keeping things in perspective.

Taking the 7k as prime, that means all my CC are sub prime CL's. I'm still in the rebuilder mode so m CL are low for a reason. My thought is that I got in with Discover, AMEX, USAA, Ican build from there.

Hoping my BCE grows well with me.

$5000? Be humble, you average Joe, and be happy with the generous line you already enjoy with Discover. Smiley Very Happy

Discover WILL grow with you. Just give it a decade or two!

Re: CLI question with Discover

At my age, I may not be alive two decades from now!  LOL

I had a card with them some years back, and it had a line of $6600. Problem was, they were new and not really accepted that much. So I cancelled the account,. Should have just SD'd that card at that time.

Oh well, live and learn! Let's see, maybe they will "soft" me one day and see all of the other high limits - then move me up > > > DOUBT IT!

Okay, I had my dream time there.

Re: CLI question with Discover

Discover is like Cap One.

You get your initial CL with them and it never moves for most people.

My Discover more is my highest CL to date. In exactly 50 days, I hope my BCE can surpass it.

Re: CLI question with Discover

My bet is Amex will cream the Discover limit!

I'm due to call again for another CLI on the BCE. Should get to $25k without issue.
