CLI

In general, how long should you have a CC before requesting CLI?  I opened an AMEX CC in Oct 2007 w/ a $2k CL.  I have to make multiple payments between stmt dates because I've been charging on avg $3,500 / mo on the CC.

Thanks an advance for your help.

Re: CLI

AmEx is actually a CCC that announced their intervals (these started a couple of months ago):

-Not until the first 30 days are past for the first request.
-You can ask again every 6 months. So if you asked after one month, you can't ask again until the seventh month.
-They do automatic CLI's on their own.

Re: CLI

thanks for the prompt response.

I also opened a CC through CDC FCU (FIA Card Services) with a $5k CL (Oct 2007).  Are my chances better by requesting CLI with FIA?

Thanks again for your help.

Re: CLI

I'm drawing a blank --which credit union is CDC?

American Express usually gives big CLI's. The trick is you have to specify a figure, and if you're within what their computer says, bingo, you've got it. But if you ask for too much, you're shot down with no counter offer.

Re: CLI

Does a request for CLI result in a soft or hard pull (AMEX)?

To answer your question, my experience with CDC has been excellent.
