My sister got recently approved for a CSP with 6+ new credit card accounts reporting on her CR's all opened in the last year (Amex, Discover, CapOne's). She only has a checking account with Chase with not that much money in it $3K or so. Who knows?
You mentioned three lenders. Were your sister's other three cards with lenders or were some of those store cards? Did you sister have any prior cards with chase? I think some people were able to get in if they didn't have a credit card with chase already.
I just got approved for the csp a few days ago for a 18k limit after i check pre qualify online - I have jcrew, express, homedepot , city furniture , amex prg , amex everyday , capitol one venture , and a closed cap one plat account all opened withing the last 24 months. I was also approved for the freedom the very next day for a 10k limit - so i dont think they count store cards , but i was also pre approved check the that first
Good grab getting the csp/freedom combo.

It used to be they would give you the plus if you had the bold because one was a charge and you could always so oh I want to carry a balance now so I need a revolver. However, after the change the bold and plus are pretty much identical, which is the cause of my concern.
I app'ed when both the Bold and Plus existed, and would have used the very reason you mentioned, but recon was never necesarry. Before the fees were due, I'd close the Bolds, and app'ed for the Cash, keeping one and paying the fee on one Ink Plus.
I haven't kept up, since I assume my days of app'ing for Inks are over. Do they still currently offer the Bold? I'm not even sure what changes they made, but will say Chase's handling of NPSL wasn't anywhere near as efficient and useful as Amex.

No you can't app for bold anymore. Those of us who have the bold had it turned into a revolver so its basically an ink plus, although still called ink bold.

Gotcha. Ok, in this case, I can see your concern. If declined on manual review, aside from the bonus, there really isn't "good" rationale you can use during recon.

Guess I'll just have to start another business then ::sigh::
