I am curious, i hear everyone saying CSP and Freedom make a great combo especially with UR points. I am confused. Why? One is cash back and the other is points. What are the benefits of that combo. I have the CSP and may consider the Freedom. I would love your opinions. Thank you

The Freedom isn't "Cash Back" It is Ultimate rewards points just like CSP where you can transfer the Freedom UR points to the CSP and could earn much more with Freedom and CSP together

Even though Freedom is toted as a "cash-back" card, it still earns UR points just like the CSP does.
Therefore, you can combine the points from Freedom to CSP. Everybody loves it because it's 5x on bonus categories from Freedom, and then 2x on travel/dining from CSP.

also another thing to keep in mind if you pair freedom up with checking account its like 10% bonus for freedom purchases. CSP and freedom are both UR points cards, freedom has 5% categories, but cannot transfer to Airline and hotel partners, you need an card like CSP or Bold card. You can combine ur points with freedom, bold and CSP cards. .
Oh i see now. That really does sound like an amazing combo. I think I may wait since I got the CSP last month and probably would get denied for the freedom.

yeah you could wait , but i also think that freedom is an lot easier to get than CSP. I think its an entry level chase card, don't quote me on that though not 100% sure.

I don't think of it as amazing, just "useful" for some! The 5% categories max out at 30K UR points (33K with Chase checking) per year, which is good but doesn't mean that "Oh, now I can easily do that [your choice of aspirational reward]"

You might get approved but not on the best of terms

You probably would get approved for the Freedom if you got approved for the CSP. Their credit analysts told me they'll approved two cards in 30 days. And at the 31st day I applied for a 3rd Chase card and was instantly approved.

+1 I apped for the CS and Freedom on same day and got declined for the CSP about 2 days later because of my previous apps. Apped for the CSP today and instant approval
I wanted the Marriott card but all the Marriott's near me are catagory 7 or 8 and anywhere I travel is the same
