Chase usually pulls Ex - similar to Amex but they have also been double/triple pulling too. I don't think Amex will get spooked at all. If they have a problem with inq's, you were seeking new credit just CLI's - they should know about that! Smiley LOL

I just checked my Ex and I have 8 inquiries on there. The cli inquiries all went on TU. I don't really worry about Amex being worried over the inquiries but I do worry about another account hitting my report. Each time a new account reports, Amex automatically pulls my credit report. Plus if I were to get approved for the CSP, I would have to spend 3k in 3 months so I would be taking away almost all my charges from Amex to earn those points.

Re: CSP for me?

Just FYI - the lowest limit you can get for CSP is 5K, so if you don't consider that low, then you would be fine as far as your limit is concerned.

Re: CSP for me?

Let me ask this question. Why do you need the CSP? If you can't justify the spend and are worried about Amex maybe you should wait

I don't really "need" the CSP. First off, I really want the sign up bonus and I like that you can earn 2x points on travel and dining. Also, as my credit gets better, I want better cards that have better rewards. I like my Amex cards and just worry about them since everyone else around here worries about them *lol*

Re: CSP for me?

IMO, don't worry about Amex. As long as you can justify the AF and can handle the sign up bonus- then go for it!

Don't worry about Amex, they won't have any issues with your opening accounts with Chase.

You can reach the spend requirement with combination of the following:  (1) use it to pay all your essential bills and rent; (2) time-shift the spend with GCs or by pre-paying your bills; (3) and, just use amzn payments.

The annual fee is a non issue, since it's waived the first year, and Chase allows for a seemless PC to the non-fee Sapphire, if you're reticent to cancel the account.

Re: CSP for me?

Well, I went for it and was denied. Smiley Sad I called for a recon twice and both were fails. They said my accounts have not been open long enough. Less than a year. I have a mortgage on my report but it has been inactive since 95 so it didn't matter to them. I told the csr's that I have been paying cash since the mortgage and didn't realize that no credit for so long was just as bad as having bad credit. This southern girls charm just did not work this time. Oh well......I didn't really "need" it anyways.

Re: CSP for me?

Oh no! I'm sorry about that- maybe the third times the charm. If you feel up to it, try again in a few days.

Re: CSP for me?

I would recon again. Often its just a matter of getting the right person. You already applied, the HP can't be reversed, so its worth it to try again (at least once, if not a few more times).

Re: CSP for me?

I will try a third time if y'all think it's a possibility. Is there anything different or better I can say? I really thought the last csr was going to let me through but he instead.referred me here.....lol I asked if I needed two years history and he said I could have less than two years. I'm almost at 1 year so maybe I will do better after the year is up?
