I've read you can boost your points by 10% on the TY points from any Citi card (Custom Cash = 5.5, Double Cash = 2.2, etc.). I'm going to state what I *think* I know but can the pros please confirm or correct me? When you have multiple Citi cards, you can pool your TYPs. I happen to have CC and DC and when I log on to either account, I do see that it says both account's TYPs are combined. If I understand correctly, only the Citi Rewards+ card has the 10% redemption multiplier (on the first 100,000 TYPs per year). So, if you have the Citi R+ card, you can log into your R+ account and redeem all your pooled Citi TYPs at 1.1X per point. How am I doing so far? Here's where I fear I may not benefit as much as I'd like to..... I am 100% a cash back guy. I don't even like the word 'points', lol, but I 'tolerate' them when I know they can be redeemed for 1cpp. Which the TYPs are (at least with DC and CC). If I read correctly, you can't redeem TYPs through the R+ card for 1.1cpp. Is that true? I think I read gift cards only. Gift cards for places I was going to spend anyway is a close second to true cash back, I suppose. I think I found the Citi site listing their gift card selection. It's pretty generous but it's a big bummer that most of the vendors I would pick are places I could be getting 5% cash back at if I were paying with my credit cards! (Target, Lowe's, Grocery, Gas, Restaurants). But I guess getting 10% more gift card and not getting 5% CB still puts you ahead 5%, lol. Anyway, if I didn't get the process right, or if I missed anything, please clue me in. Thanks!
