Can you get a second Delta SUB on a second AMEX card?

The DW has a 7 month old DElta Gold and received the 60,000 mile bonus.  I was wondering if she would actually get the SUB with a second Delta card.  She would be going for a Business Gold likely.  It is showing the SUB...  Thanks.

Yeah the business and personal cards are considered different products, so as long as she's never had the business card before then she'll be able to get the SUB.

Thank you!

I have two additional questions regarding AMEX.

Her personal Delta, being her first revolver, was a $1k SL.  It is not being used much and we could spend more on a biz card even if that did start at a low limit.  If she cancelled the personal Delta after being approved for a Biz Delta, does she keep the miles or is that a no no?  Time frame?

Between the two of us, we have over 230,000 MR points.  Can these be combined or are they always separate?

Thank you.

She's eligible for a SUB on a different Delta card...unless she gets the pop-up saying she isn't eligible. YMMV. Spend seems to count, and not just the number of Amex cards a person has opened and closed.

It is highly inadvisable to close an Amex card within the first 12 months. SUB clawbacks are a serious risk.

Spend: BofA PR + WWFCR, BBP, Schwab Platinum, CFF+CF, Costco, Discover
Perks: IHG49, Hyatt75, Delta Platinum, "Old" SPG95
SD/AAoA Ballast: Arrival, CFU, DC
Upgrade/downgrade games: BCE, EDP
SUB: JetBlue, Amex Platinum
Mostly earning MRs and cash back as I use up hotel and airline points spread across several programs.

Re: Can you get a second Delta SUB on a second AMEX card?

Assuming that you have not had any of the Delta cards, you are both eligible to receive welcome offers for SkyMiles Gold, SkyMiles Gold Business, SkyMiles Platinum, SkyMiles Platinum Business, Delta Reserve, and Delta Reserve Business.  You are eligible for the welcome offer on SkyMiles Blue, and she would be if she closed any and all Delta cards for a minimum of 90 days.  The welcome offers are one-per-product and other than the stipulation with Blue, there are no restrictions for other products in the Delta family.  I personally received welcome offers for SkyMiles Platinum, Delta Reserve, and SkyMiles Business Platinum in a 13 month period.

I would strongly caution against closing any Amex card in the first year as a clawback of any welcome offer could happen.  I would also caution against closing any Amex card in at least the first two years as it may affect your eligibility for future welcome offers.

If your Membership Rewards points are in separate accounts, there is no possibility of combining them, other than a roundabout way if you wanted to move them into a single frequent flyer or hotel loyalty account, one of you could add the other as an AU, authorize the other to manage rewards on the account, and then they could be moved to the AU's airline or hotel account.
