Cap1 Credit Steps CLI question...

Hi all,

I have had my Cap1 CS card (auto CLI at 4th & 7th)... I started w/ 1k, 0% for 1 year, $19/yr fee.  Have used it every month & pretty much PIF each time (leaving about 4-5% util each cycle)

I have never called to ask for CLI from any CC I've carried, so I'm not really sure how to go about doing this.

I intend to call the backdoor number, but I don't really know what to say.... any help/coaching?

Thanks so much!

Capital One are not currently allowing Customer Initiated CLIs, I don't think it will matter what number you call or what you say - they just are not prepared to have you ask to increase a limit and do it they just tell you this is not an option at this time in this climate.  Supposedly they will still do reviews and offer limit increases but I have yet to see one (my card turns one in August and I had credit steps take me from 300 to 700 and then from 700 to 1500 but with no increases since then and when I called was told the above)

Re: Cap1 Credit Steps CLI question...

Sounds good!  I'll just take the auto CLIs then & not call (my paperwork says $500-750 each time, so that should suffice for now).

I don't need the CLI, but it was an unexpected surprise to get the preapproval, approval, then seeing the actual limit (thought it would be $300 max), so I was going to see if I could milk it for now (even though I'm not even into rebuilding stage yet... still cleaning....).

Thanks for the response!
