hi all.
im just wondering what your experiences are with this program?
Ive had the QS1 MC since 09/14 and it started out $300 SL.
Then, it was increased to $2300 through credit steps, which I had no clue I was in.
Now, Ive got the Platinum card and a live chat agent told me my "pre-qualified increase will be to a limit of $750", with my current limit being $500.
Is there a possibility it will be more?
I've put around $1000 worth of charges on it so far, which I've PIF, and only got it November 13th of this year.
I also plan on using it plenty more.
My increase is apparently coming in May, so by then it'll probably have another $1500-2000 in charges, because I use it for grocery shopping/gas/diapers.
Im really hoping it will be more, and was wondering if you guys have been informed of one number and it turned out to be another for the increase?
Thank you!
There's def a good chance that you will get more. There are tons of datapoints in this forum alone of people getting a lot more. I believe CO under promises and over delivers if you pay on time, use the card a lot, and make more than minimum payments. My CS experience was a $3k increase from a SL of $300 and $1000 increase from a SL of $300. My brother and Mother had similar experiences with minimal amount being $1k.
With the Platinum heres what i did: Used the card for 3 months straight with no lates. Once the 3rd statement cut i hit the "credit line increase" button on cap one website. Went from $500 to $1500. Im still enrolled in credit steps even though i got a manual Increase already.
Also once the 3rd statement cuts jump on live chat and asked to be upgraded to the quicksilver rewards card with no AF.
This way itll give you a nice increase before 5 months then the credit steps program will kick in in a few months. I think im only gettin $250 also from credit steps.
Your overall increase would likely be more than quoted but most of us did two things, lots of spend and did CLI around the 3rd statement cut then wait for the 5th/6th auto credit steps CLI. After that, you should qualify for another cli 6 months later. When you do that 3rd statement CLI see what it's offering, sometimes it's low $100 or high...That's a good indicator. I've done it on two on my cards, DH done it on his cards and my mom just did the 3rd statement thing on her two cards and both went from $300 to $800 each card. She'll likely get to $1300 when her credit steps hit. Kind of a trend I watched but she has less spend then all of us.
I have been in the program and got minor increases until yesterday where I jumped from 750 to 2250. My wife has grown from 1k to 3k in about a year. On accepting small increases I suggest you pass, once you accept one your locked in for 5-6 months before you can have another. Just check every few weeks and your bound to be offered something more significant.

Mine was a lousy $500, and I ran 6k through a $750 limit
Very similar here. I received no notification, but noticed a $500 increase this morning on that account.
@I've put somewhere around $7k through it @ 800CL.
It started was a $300SL, I hit Luv on 3rd statement for +500.
I still won't cancel and cut up the card, but I'm still somewhat disappointed.
They aren't really breaking down the door trying to catch all of my spend.
