Cap1 Feeling Good

I know alot of people dont like Cap1, but I have to give them some kudo's.  PC'd my Platinum MC a couple weeks ago to a QS with no annual fee.  Just got off chat with them today and PC''d a old Platinum Visa(Orchard Bank) to a QS1 and was able to get AF waived for first year.  Cap1 seems to want to work with people,  while I sit with a Barclays MC for over 2 years at a $500 CL and never a auto CLI nor anything when I have requested it.  I know they are not all the top tier cards, but it does feel good when CC companies show some love from time to time.

I love Cap1 too! They post charges and payments fast to my accts, and any rewards Ive cashed in, Ive received them fast as well.

As far as Barclays is concerned, this is what Id do......

Call into UW in the BD# and tell them youve had your card in good standing for 2 yrs, and is your card eligible for an APR reduction. They will look and either say no, or yes. Either way, after that, ask them does your account have a "SP" CLI available? Youve never had one. A lot of folks have had good luck doing it that way.

Re: Cap1 Feeling Good

I think a lot of people love Cap One these days.  Cap One's policies and processes have really been consumer friendly lately.  There are still some holdouts from long, long ago that talk crap about them, but I love them as well.

Re: Cap1 Feeling Good

I'm really enjoying being a Cap 1 customer! They have treated me well, and I'll do the same! I actually have another app pending with them (want a 0% card). If approved they'll have quite a bit of limits with me.

Re: Cap1 Feeling Good

+1 for Capital One love!  I have still not been successful in PC'ing my Platinum (old Orchard converted) to a no AF QS, but I won't hold it against them. Smiley Happy  I have thought about contacting EO, but have not yet.

Re: Cap1 Feeling Good

My CapOne Platinum is my oldest CC from 2001. During the several years my card was maxed out at $16,600 I didn't think CapOne liked me at all whenever I'd ask for an APR reduction. When I got my second chance last November to pay the card off, I was going to cancel it. Thankfully I left it open simply for the AAoA, however I had no plans to ever use it again. When I found myFICO in April I started realizing how beneficial rewards cards are. I got the QS, and they immediately gave me a CL of $10k and after the 0% APR I will have 14.9%. So, CapOne still does love me and I am using the QS more than any other card for my daily purchases. I usually run about $1k per month through it and PIF.

I'm really not sure why there are still CapOne haters out there either.

Re: Cap1 Feeling Good

We love Cap1 as well. They have treated us well even though we didn't treat them very well before. I also have an Auto Loan approval with them I might use next week. Seeing if I can get something else a little better, but it is better than we have had in years.

Re: Cap1 Feeling Good

Me too! I would not be where i am today without Capital One. They have helped so many people and i will always be sure to take care of my Cap one cards.

Even considering getting a savings acct online with them.

I think their credit policies are fair and i like that. I know where i stand and when I likely get a cli. And credit steps in a genius idea.

Now if only they'd stop the infamous triple pull... But its the price of admission, for soft pull increases for life..

Re: Cap1 Feeling Good

I was thiiiiiis close to closing my one Capital One card but they've really been the best bank I've been with next to Citi. Especially since their policies are loosening up. I hope soon they get some nice co-branded cards or take over a few portfolios from the big dogs

Currently, my primary bank is CapitalOne360. I may end up changing over to DCU if they approve our Auto Loan application to get the rate bonus. I have appreciated how easy Cap1 has been to work with as a bank. I've had 2 different fraud issues with my debit card and both were quickly taken care of. They have no fee ATMs all over the place as well and you can deposit checks with your smartphone.
