Re: Capita One and forgivness?

scores were horrible, in the 500's and they pulled all 3 which is the reason why I wont apply for one of there cc.. I refuse to use 3 inq for just 1 credit card.

WhirledPeasePlease,

Just wondering how things have progressed with your Cap1 card.

*Note to self* Remember why and for how long you had to rebuild in the first place! One Day at a Time, One Day at a Time!

Started at 3k in January.

Called for a CLI on Easter (March?) and went to 3750.

Within two weeks I rec'd the credit steps boost to 4250 where it has sat empty and well, a bit hungry.

I just took advantage of a BT offer for 1.9 w/ a fee capped at $50.

It hasn't had a balance on it since June when the intro rate was near expiration.  It is not a rewards card and therefore doesn't get much love, but it's proven itself as an attractive BT option card.

Re: Capita One and forgivness?

Capital One appears to be pretty forgiving as long as you don't mind taking what they give you.  It looks like they have cards for all credit profiles, so if you don't mind starting out with a $300.00 limit and an annual fee, go for it, just keeping the worst case scenario in mind.  I've also read on here that people with Cap. One cards say that they have caps and don't grow, so in order to get past a certain step, you have to re-apply with another hard pull (i.e., start at 300 build it to 2k and then are stuck there, unless you re-apply for a diff. card that will let you grow till 3k, then re-apply, etc.).

Current:
TU (5/14/14): 796 (Inquiries; 8/23/13)
EQ (3/23/14): 791 (Inquiries: 8/23/13)
EX (9/24/13): 780 (Inquiries: 7/2/12; 11/20/12; 7/30/13; 8/23/13)

Goals: No new inquiries for 2014, 800 for all CRs by 12/31/14

Re: Capita One and forgivness?

DH has a CO from Cap 1 on his reports that won't come off until May. They have sent him numerous pre-approval letter's and he got one with no AF and a decent rate. He responded to the offer and was instantly approved. Limit was $300. (I didn't think they would approve him since the CO is not paid-so I was amazed)

His score's were at 600 EX, 590 EQ 625 TU when he applied.

If you don't mind the hard pulls on all 3, then try it.
