I really wouldn't bother wasting time with the EO or another CSR, just close the cards. You have enough new credit, the fees are far too high for the CLs and benefits. Just close and move on with your better cards.
+1
Exactly what I did with all my Cap-1 AF cards (Sony $2000, HSBC $1500, Cap1 $750) - closed no longer needed. I do have 1 Cap- Card left, much higher limit and lower APR.
I'm of the firm opinon that if you don't need a card or it's not in your best interest to have an account - close it if they won't remove AF's or reduce the APR.
Before I knew about the EO I did close one account I had with them. It was my second oldest account at that point, so I was sorry to do so. After I learned of the EO I was able to get some relief on that account. Funny thing is I now have a Venture card which has cash back instead of points, they altered the account after I later changed my mind on what kind of rewards I wanted but didn't actually change the type of account. When I upgraded to the Venture card I have been able to now get CLIs. I still have not been able to get anywhere with my old HSBC card for online CLIs. I did get them to up the limit last year through the EO. EO I tell you! EO!
I feel your pain. I have been with Crap One for almost 11 years. I started with Platinum cards with $500 limits and last year PC'd to Quicksilver. After several calls to the EO, I was finally able to get incremental increases to $2500 (within the last year). Meanwhile, recently I was approved for Discover, Chase, Citi with some pretty good credit limits. Crap one are my oldest credit card accounts, but I'm very close to closing them for crappy limits and high annual fees. Keep us posted.

What is the EO?!?!
It wont hurt your AAoA to close these cards?
Executive office. They still will report for the next 10 years. It will have a minor impact on utilization.

I didn't even know that Cap1 had a annual fee of 60 on any cards.... thats crazy.
Mine has a $79 AF...it's a leftover from when it was a Household Bank CC. I was able to get it waived, at least.
Soooo... a week later I hear back from CapOne EO. I already knew the outcome as they had already updated my accounts online. Two of the three cards in question were given no CLI and the third went from $750 to $1000.
1. $750 Limit - $39 AF - $250 CLI to $1000
2. $750 Limit - $19 AF - No CLI
3. $300 Limit - $60 AF - No CLI
He calls me, apologizes for two of them not being "eligible" for CLIs and congratulating me (boy was he excited for me!) on the $250 CLI on the one card. I thanked him for his efforts (blah, blah) and told him I wanted to close them all. He was caught off guard but walked me through the process and they were all closed. I got his name, requested written confirmation of the closures and confirmed they would show report as being closed at my request.
So no more babysitting $5 and $8 monthly fees for insulting limits. I still have my Venture card (5K) and a handful of other quality cards totaling about 45K in limits so I'm good.
Onward and upward.

Sorry to hear but a good decision for you! At least you tried!

Sounds like you got what I got, but with the call back. I asked for $3k on my 750 no-AF card that just PCed from Platinum to QS. Talked to EO 10 days ago, CL went up by $250 in the last week. Haven't heard back from them to confirm, and no conf letter in my documents section.
It's now my third lowest card, with VS a bit lower and BofA still a lot lower. Probably going to churn it with a tiny monthly bill and auto-billpay for a while, see if they make it any better.
