I did a request to change my due date on my QS card so the close date will be the 2nd and due 27th of each month. Right now due date is on 7th and closes the 10th.
I did an online chat with "Marcus" and he confused the heck out of me. I requested the change on 6/8, currently have a $0 balance, and wanted to know when this would take place. He took my question as being that I wanted to close my QS account. He then talked in circles about having to carry a balance in order for the change to be made. I was like WHAT?? at both things he said. He then told me the change is in process and would go through, so I said ok good I don't like to carry a balance and like to PIF. He then said again I have to carry a balance. I said thanks for your time and ended the chat.
Can someone clarify for me what the heck is going on or ever encountered such nonsense? Will it be changed with a $0 balance?
It should...a statement will generate regardless if you PIF or carry the balance. Perhaps a chat with a different rep?

That's what I thought also. I told the rep thanks and ended the chat and gave him very low marks. I said in my remarks that he talked in circles and did not understand what I was asking. I was stunned and alarmed when he was confirming I wanted to cancel my QS card!!
Maybe even a phone call. Did you confirm he didn't close the account?

I think it was loud and clear that the account was not to be closed ![]()
I changed my due date myself on one of the card services tabs. No need to chat. It did take two cycles to change though, and it warns you of such.

I did change it through the services tab like I mentioned in the original post on the 11th. I was just checking for an update on the status in Live chat. In my job I'm on the phone all day and the last thing I want to do at night is talk to people.

Not understanding why you are going thru chat to do something you can do yourself. just log in and change the date. right from your online account. it actually takes up to 2 statements before the changes are in effect. im sure it will not go faster using chat. ive changed all my cap 1 due dates so they can reflect on the exact same day. good luck anyway.

Let me clarify my original post: I did not go through chat to request the change tonight. I did it through the tab on June 11th. I simply was looking for an update to my close date request tonight. I did not see any secure messages, so I decided to hit chat tonight, a week later, to see if they could confirm my request was in process.
I would never request a change in my due dates simply via Chat. I didn't feel like getting on the phone and talk to someone to check the status, so I hit the chat button. All I was looking for in here is if I had to carry a balance like the guy in chat said before it could process.
Sorry I didn't make my first message more clear.
