Re: Capital One Executive Office

The Executive Office direct phone number is 800-955-1455. It has been posted on this forum before. Do not abuse the privilege of having this phone number. Be prepared to explain yourself as soon as your call picks up, because right after a warning that the call is being recorded, the call is routed directly to a representative.

They do not typically start out the call with the same pleasantries that the tier one representatives do (e.g. asking for your name or account number first); they simply want to know why you are calling. They do not get many calls, so they may also ask you where you got their number from.

When I called, I explained that I had been denied customer-initiated requests for a CLI in the past, and I asked if it would be possible to submit my account to an underwriter or analyst for manual review. She asked me how I got the number, and she said she would be happy to submit my request. She asked for my account numbers and minimum and maximum CLs I would accept, and she said I would receive a call within the next week.

EDIT: Please be courteous and respectful to these representatives. They are not script readers, and they do have the power to authorize many changes to your account that even a senior accounts specialist cannot. Do explain to them your frustration of your cards not growing with you, and also let them know that you would rather enhance the products you already have than take a hit and apply for new cards with them or elsewhere. Through them, your feedback is likely to go much farther.

definitely a +10000 to those red parts.

This isn't a number that you call for any little problem, and I wouldn't call it and ask for a CLI if you either a) just got your account, or b) your credit hasn't improved since the time you got your account. If either of those things are true you don't "really deserve" nor should you expect a CLI. I understand those who have had their accounts for years without receiving a CLI calling this number, but it isn't for everyone. That is why I only PMd it to 1 or 2 people.

P.S: Don't piss them off Smiley Tongue

What did you tell them when they asked how you got the number? I mean could someone get away with saying a previous rep gave the number? I may try this in 6 months. Months ago i got them to add cash rewards to my account and i emailed social media and recieved a call back from the number i provided in my post above and they were able to get me cash rewards, so since they have a 6 month policy for offers i guess i should wait 6 months and contact the executive office for a increase.

I told them that I got it from a friend and had been holding onto it for a while. I didn't specify that my friend was the Internet.

The six-month policy is only for offers to show up on your account when a representative looks; it doesn't stop the executive office from doing whatever is in their power. It was only 2 months ago or less that I got the Executive Office to permanently remove the annual fees from both my cards, and this month they got me one CLI per card. Your results may vary, but don't be afraid to call them for a manual review. Even the senior accounts specialist I spoke to right before calling the Executive Office didn't have a way to submit the review request.

EDIT: She did also ask me if I had any deposit accounts with Capital One Bank, and I politely explained to her that after being a Hibernia and then Capital One checking customer for over 6 years, I had closed all of my deposit accounts with them after having no previous luck growing my credit with them. To be honest, I don't know if it would have made a difference anyway. It was probably just a control question to give the executives feedback on how (dis)satisfied people are with their products.

That is why I've never posted it before. I've PMd it to a few people in the months I've had it, and it was after reading their thread and seeing they had a legitimate issue.

Cap1 is prob gonna end up changing their phone number now Smiley Tongue

There is a reason it wasn't in the backdoor number thread, but it has been posted quite a few times.

I found it in a thread on another forum a couple months ago when I had an issue with my account. I don't really think it is something that should be just displayed publicly on this board.

And if you look at a good portion of the people who requested it, most had only like 1-20 posts.

Not saying that some people don't legitimately need this number, but most people are probably just going to use it to harass cap1 about CLIs on their 6 month old accounts.  There is a reason you're the only one I PMd it to out of this whole thread. haha.

After replying to the 10th PM I got today asking for it, and seeing yet more unanswered PMs, I figured it didn't matter. It has definitely been posted here before, that's how I got it in the first place.

EDIT: It was also posted here and here and it's all over the internet.

YES, people are gonna abuse the crap out of it, which is WHY IT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE PUBLICLY POSTED! I have sent out several PM's to members who had problems, who were not getting results with the other numbers. The pm's were fine and im glad OUR MEMBERS were getting help, but now every dang Harry, Tom, Dick and Sallie are gonna be able to do a simple google search and this post will come up and BANG, the number goes out all over the place. They actually do ask how you got their number because its not really supposed to be used in a general manner. The Executive office even stated that they DO NOT receive that many calls a day. Now that the number is posted, they are gonna be flooded with calls, with 80% of the calls not being serious in nature. THere is no telling how silly and wasteful some of the calls are gonna be. The Number really is personal and there are only a select few that work in that office. The people that work in that office are nothing like Cap1 CS and do not deserve the abuse that is now headed their way. They ARE gonna change that number once their office starts getting flooded with calls day in and day out, which i suspect will now happen. Then, those of us who seriously need their help, are gonna be SOL. I really hope i dont offend anyone, but i REALLY hope the Mods take the number down.
