Re: Capital One Platinum Card to Quicksilver (via Facebook)

It should not affect the age of the account. Just a product change not a new account. My Account history is still intact.

I didn't give any advice. I said 'it may not be' and also mentioned 'i never used a card abroad'. These two statements suggest that that was just a statement not an advice. I myself is learning lots of things and just shared what I thought. Did not want to influence anyone here.

Re: Capital One Platinum Card to Quicksilver (via Facebook)

Isn't the Quicksilver a Visa Sig?  How are they "PCing" to a Visa Sig but keeping CL at 1750?  Isn't minimum Sig CL $5k?  Is this another one of their pseudo-PC deals where they just match the rewards?  Not complaining, I actually really like Cap1, they've been great to me.

There is a MasterCard version of Quicksilver as well for Average Credit People. That card can have lowest CL as 300

Yeah I saw that, but AZguy13 said he got a PC to the Quicksilver for excellent credit with a $1750 CL

If you had a MC, then your quicksilver is a MC, your limit stays the same, same account number too.

I don't think that they do an MC to a Visa Sig

Ah, this must be it.  You're right, you can't do a true PC from MC to Visa Sig, so they probably just do their thing where they match the benefits from the Quicksilver.

The major difference is that with the QS you get 1.5% immediately, whereas with the Plat Cash, you get 1%, then once a year the additional 0.5%

In reality, for most people not a huge difference, but given a choice, getting the 1.5% now is better!

Re: Capital One Platinum Card to Quicksilver (via Facebook)

If you look at the description of the card, it says it is a Visa Signature. But it also has an asterisk after when. When you go to the bottom and read the asterisk it says that if you are approved for less than $5K CL it is not a Visa Signature. So, im guessing if I ever get my CLI past $5K I will get a new card reflecting the Visa Signature.
