I took all the advice here and in the beginning of February I applied for the QuicksilverOne and Platinum from Capital One within an hour or so of each other. Both were approved for $2000. I've taken advice using and paying as I go and had my first statement cut on March 5. I tried right away on Chat to PC the Platinum to Quicksilver but was only told I had to wait a few more weeks. Fast forward to today, about a week and half before my second statement cuts and I went into chat to try again. Right away, i figured QuicksilverOne wouldn't get any love so I didn't bother asking. I went for the Platinum and asked for any offers and the agent told me he was transferring me to another agent. This is how I knew it was a successful chat session. I PC'd the Platinum to a Quicksilver without the annual fee. Yay! Thanks to you guys here, I'm already feeling better about my credit.
I said I was going to stay in the garden until atleast the end of the year but a recent visit to the Victoria's Secret website gave me a shopping cart popup. I knew I had seen something here about those so I came right to the forum to do some research before I did anything. I ended up accepting the offer and got a card with a $750 limit. Not bad for me considering I usually only make a few purchases during their semi-annual sales.
Anyway, thanks again guys, I can't wait to see what else capital One has in store for me. Going to try for a CLI after the 3rd statement and then also see what my Credit Steps CLI looks like in a few more months!
Congrats!
Did your platinum have a balance on it at the time, or any pending charges?

I have a few payments that should be applied today but there is a balance and some pending charges since I've been using both of my cards like debit cards.
